How quotes are checked, and why some platforms are never quoted

Every quote in a report is matched word for word against the collected evidence before publication. Quotes that cannot be found are removed.

Every quote is checked before you see it

After the analysis is written, PollyX compares every quote in the report (themes, aspects, purchase intent, audience segments) with the text it actually collected. A quote must appear word for word in that evidence. A quote that cannot be found is removed before the report is published, never shown with a warning.

The tally is printed at the top of Sources & References, for example "53 of 57 quotes in this report were verified word-for-word against the evidence text; 4 that could not be found were removed before publication."

Platforms that are described, not quoted

Some platforms are summarised rather than quoted, by design:

  • Review sites such as Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, Glassdoor and BBB appear as one rating row each: the star split and the themes reviewers raise, never a reviewer's words or name. Review sites over-represent unhappy customers, so they inform the score without driving it.
  • Instagram and TikTok posts are kept as a link, a date and engagement counts only: no captions and no account names.
  • On a public share link and through the API, the text of X posts is left out and only the link remains. Your own dashboard shows the full report.

Spotted a quote that looks wrong?

Email contact@pollyx.org with the report link. If a report contains a factual error or a misattributed quote, we correct it, and where the error was material we regenerate the report at no charge.
