Crisis alerts: the daily radar and score alerts
Monitored brands get a free daily check for unusual spikes in coverage, plus optional email alerts when a scheduled report's score drops or a rival moves.

The daily coverage radar
Every brand with monitoring switched on gets a free daily check, with no credit used. PollyX counts the last 24 hours of activity in news, on Bluesky, on Mastodon and on Hacker News, plus social engagement, and compares each with the day before. A channel counts as spiking only when it is both busy and several times its usual level, so a quiet brand getting two articles instead of one does not set it off.
When a channel spikes you get:
- a notification, "Coverage spike: [brand]", saying which channel spiked, by how much, whether it is rising, peaking or fading, and the likely driver, read from the coverage itself;
- the same alert on your Slack, Microsoft Teams or webhook, if you have connected them.
The first day of monitoring has no baseline, so it never alerts.
Score alerts by email
For scheduled reports, open Crisis alert settings under a schedule on the Tracking page:
- Email me on crisis signals, on or off;
- Alert if score drops by at least a number of points (default 1.5);
- Alert if score falls below a level out of 10 (default 4.0).
With email on, a scheduled report sends an alert email when its score drops by your threshold compared with the previous report, falls below your floor, or contains a high-severity crisis alert, whatever the thresholds. Choose Save settings after changing them.
Note: The daily radar alerts in PollyX and on your connected channels, not by email. Score alert emails come only from scheduled reports.
Rival alerts
When a scheduled report finishes, PollyX compares each rival with the report before it. A rival whose sentiment score rose or fell by a point or more, or whose share of the conversation moved by 10 points or more, is listed in one notice and email, and on your connected channels. They follow the Email me on crisis signals switch. Scheduled AI Visibility checks do the same for rivals' share of the answers and tone (see Tracking your AI visibility).
