What it shows

Under What reached your website on a check, Google Search Console beside AI sets three things side by side:

  • Your questions in Google and in AI: each question of the check that matches searches in your export, with how often the assistants put you first and how many clicks and impressions those Google searches brought you.
  • Google sends people here, the assistants never read it: your pages that bring clicks from Google but were not among the pages any assistant read in this check.
  • The assistants read it, Google barely shows it: your pages the assistants read that had fewer than 10 impressions in Google, or were not in your export.

Export it from Search Console

  1. 1Open Performance > Search results for your site.
  2. 2Choose the dates at the top. Three months is a good start.
  3. 3Click Export > Download CSV, then unzip the file you get.
  4. 4On your check, under What reached your website, choose Add Queries.csv or Pages.csv and pick Queries.csv. Do the same with Pages.csv.

You do not connect your Google account: PollyX only reads the files you choose. The other tables in the download (countries, devices, dates) are not needed.

What is kept

Each file is read once and not stored. PollyX keeps the search terms or the pages with their clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, up to the 1,000 most shown, and the file name. These are counts about your own site and say nothing about any visitor. They are saved with your account under the brand, so every check on that brand shows them, and Remove deletes one for good.

Each question has a short Google keyword (the same one its search volume uses). A search matches when it holds most of that keyword's words, so "best airlines ireland" matches "best airline in ireland". A question with no matching search is counted, not hidden.

Reading it

Google and the assistants are different places. A page that brings you clicks from Google but that no assistant read is content that already works for searchers: make it easy for AI to find and quote, for example by linking to it from the pages the assistants do read. A question where Google sends you people but the assistants do not put you first is where the answers are the gap.
