Avoiding mix-ups with similar names
Use Also known as for other names your brand goes by, and Not about for things that share its name. The suggestion card can fill both for you.

Also known as
Other names the subject goes by: a former name, a nickname, a product line. PollyX searches for these too and counts them as mentions. Separate entries with commas.
Start an entry with # (for example #coke) to also read that hashtag on Instagram and the other hashtag feeds.
Not about
Things that share the name but are not your subject, such as "the fruit" or "the football club". PollyX excludes them from the search and from the evidence. Separate entries with commas.
Let the suggestion card do it
When you type a well-known name, a card under the name field shows what PollyX found in public records:
- Add: chips with other names for the subject. Click one to put it in Also known as.
- A website chip, while the Website field is empty.
- Not your brand? Exclude: chips with look-alikes. Click one to put it in Not about.
- A note when the name is also something else entirely, suggesting a phrase to exclude.
Nothing is applied until you click it, and you can dismiss the card.
Tip: Very short names and common words are the most likely to collide. Adding the industry and a market helps too.
